Stumbles Through Mumbles

Our performance-based literary and historical walking tours through our home village of Mumbles have been curtailed this summer. We hope to have the opportunity to have a 'live walk' by the end of August. We have created four small films of some highlights of our village for you to enjoy at home. Our Cemetery-based walk, Walking The Dead, will now be premiered in 2022. In the meantime, you could visit our YouTube Channel for our filmed versions of the walks... See below for the link.

The Many Lives of Amy Dillwyn

During the lockdown of the pandemic, we continued to develop a new one-person show about Swansea's famous suffragist, novelist and industrialist, cigar-smoking Amy Dillwyn. Following a successful period of R&D at The Welfare Ystradgynlais, we are pleased to announce that we toured several venues in Wales in February and March of 2022; we are hoping to tour this piece again in the future - email us at lighthousetheatreltd@gmail.com for more details. A Child’s Christmas

A Child's Christmas is a double bill of two wonderful Christmas stories by two famous Welshmen - Dylan Thomas and Richard Burton. Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales is a seasonal favourite in Wales and beyond, and this wonderful evocation of a child's delight at the festive season has become famous the world over. Richard Burton's A Christmas Story is not as well known, but is a funny, warm and thought provoking account of childhood memories...in many ways it was a conscious response to Dylan Thomas' own childhood narrative. Told by award-winning actors Adrian Metcalfe and James Scannell, this evening's festive entertainment has been described by the press as 'masterful story-telling' and 'perfect festive fare'.

Reminiscences of Childhood

Following its award-winning debut at the Edinburgh Festival, Adrian has performed this one-man show all over the world to considerable critical acclaim.

Taliesin, a Teller of Tales

Combining the magic of the bardic story-teller with the mystery of The Mabinogion, this show promises to be an evening of great entertainment for young and old alike.

Return Journey

Dylan Thomas' masterpiece, based on the city that once was but is no more following the bombing raids of the Second World War, is both touch and tragic, funny and frivolous. Performed on the streets of Swansea in the summer of 2014.
