Two new performance tours highlighting the history and changing faces of Cardiff Bay. One on bicycles from The Pierhead Building to the Barrage and back. One on foot from The Pierhead Building to Butetown Community Centre

The Tides Are A-Changing

Working with Cardiff Harbour Authority and Arts and Business Cymru, we created two new tours that took place in May 2023; and which were performed again in May 2024 with the help of Arts and Business Culture Step funding.

A fun and light-hearted look at the history of Cardiff Bay taking you through three thousand years of history from The Pierhead to the Barrage and Butetown. Travel through time from the Celts to the Cenedd (or is that the the Selts to the Senedd?).

Accompany actor guides as they whisk you through the Bay’s history in story, slapstick and song, meeting characters from Cardiff’s past like the Marquess of Bute or Dai Davies of Llandinam. The walking tour begins in front of The Pierhead building and ends at Butetown Community Centre. The cycling tour begins and ends in front of the Pierhead. Each tour lasts approximately two hours.

In 2024, we performed both shows from May 24th to May 27th. In addition, we are developed a specially abridged walking tour performance for primary school pupils.
